This proved to be another game of two halves albeit with a much better end result than last week. Our defensive qualities in the first half were lacking with midfield slow to come back and with defenders allowing the opponent strikers too much freedom. Consequently Spandau managed to take the lead on two first half occasions which could have been worse had it not been for an in-form goalkeeper in the shape of André.
Going forward we looked dangerous with the opposite goalie also pulling off some fine saves to deny a higher goal tally than the two actually scored by Rafa and David.
So it was 2 – 2 at half time.
Before returning for the second half it was decided to keep our formation but change the tactics somewhat. This together with a noticeable improvement in effort yielded a much better performance leading to two early second half goals and a fifth one nearer the end of the game. Final score line 5 – 3 to the Rovers. Hats off to Rafa (2), Mark (2) and David (1) but an all round well done to the whole squad for a fine second half performance and result.
Looking forward to the next game.
